Hans Jurgen Boone and CassanovaBorn in Nunspeet, Gelderland, The Netherlands, Hans began riding at the age of 4. At age 12, he trained with Bob Greven, nationally renowned three-day event rider and jump course designer in The Netherlands, developing skills in dressage and jumping. At age 16, he achieved professional status through “proven in sport” in dressage, jumping and cross-country.

Hans then apprenticed with Baron van Heeckeren van Brandenburg, former head of the Cavalry for Border Security for Juliana, Queen of The Netherlands, further advancing knowledge and experience in all aspects of horsemanship. Next, he apprenticed with Ari Schram, one of the top dressage riders in The Netherlands and Europe and a renowned international dressage judge. In Germany, he progressed from apprentice status to Uber Stall Meister (head rider and barn manager) for the legendary dressage Riding Master, Georg Theodorescu, who represented his native country, Romania, in the 1956 Olympic Games in Stockholm, and served as Coach for the U.S. Dressage Team in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Hans Jurgen BooneAfter immigrating to the United States, he served as Head Dressage Trainer and Coach for Yancey Farms, Dallas, Texas, importers and breeders of Trakhener champions in the U.S. He also conducted numerous dressage clinics in the U.S., specifically Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Texas, and Arkansas, with the objective of improving the skills of riders and their horses through knowledge and experience in classical dressage. He then became Owner and Head Trainer and Coach of Wind River Farms II in Euless, Texas. To devote more time and effort to students and their horses, clinic venues were limited to Texas as he focused on instructing students in the Dallas/Fort Worth area from Training Level thru Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).

Currently, Hans is co-owner with his wife, Katie Lambert Boone, of Irish Day Farm in Houston, Texas. He is Head Trainer and Coach of classical dressage and a successful importer of selective warmbloods for competition. His achievements include United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals, and he has trained and coached 23 horse and rider pairs to FEI level competitions, earning them 19 USDF Silver Medals and 4 USDF Gold Medals.
